The miRWalk database is a project of the Bioinformatic Services, and belongs to the Medical Faculty Mannheim of the Heidelberg University.

Server Hardware

miRWalk is currently hostet on virtual server structure on a cloud infrastructure of the Heidelberg University (heiCloud). heiCloud based on Openstack, an open source and scalable operating system for building both public and private clouds. Most of the prediction work was performed on the bwUniCluster, part of the bwHPC. bwHPC is Baden-Württemberg's concept for high performance computing covering HPC services at all levels.
